Hi,

We installed RR this past year at our office and have been experiencing many problems. Our current setup is RR v6.02.23 on 18 Mac minis running Mountain Lion and only rendering for AE and C4D.

Some of our settings are as follows:
AE - set to render multi-machine instead of sequence divide.
Clients - multiple instances are disabled.
Clients - each has 16Gb of ram.

Our main issues include:
1. rrControl - Controls are unresponsive. When attempting to abort/disable a job, most of the time it does not stop the job. The job just continues to render, thus hogging up all the nodes. We've noticed that for AE, it will never stop the job once it's going, while for C4D it will finally abort after the sequence the node has been given finishes. Our only solution has been to remote into each machine and restart the computer.

2. rrControl - Client controls are unresponsive. When attempting to restart machines, WOL, or abort jobs through client controls, it does not work and has never worked. The only thing that works under the client panel is assigning nodes.

Please let me know if anyone has any solutions.

Thanks,
Justin

Hi

>v6.02.23
You should update to 6.2.50, that is the last RR 6.0 version.

About the issues:
It seems that both issues have the cause that no command you send via rrControl does anything.
But that is not right, that makes RR unusable. This is the first report about such a problem.
Please zip the folder RR/sub/log and upload it via www.RoyalRender.de/upload_r.php.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have uploaded the log file to you so you should have it soon. The folder contained some of the old setups we had prior to our current configuration. So you should only need to look at Rlad01-Rlad18.

Thanks.

Your rrServer version is 6.02.22.
Your Client (and probably control) version is 6.02.09.
The log of the server states that it got commands from a wrong RR version.

You need to apply this update:
http://www.royalrender.de/download/6.02.50__updateFrom_6.02.00+.ZIP

It has hundrets of improvements, new features and fixes.

Ok, great. Thanks so much. We'll take a look at that and get it up and running.
