Hi Holger,

- which is the last version of RR usable with licenses for v6? (i tried 7b8q+6.2 but with license problem)

- what does the +6.2 mean in the dl info? support for v6 but works with v7 licenses?

- i was trying to update to v6.02.31 and it has problems with exr in modo7.04 rendering due to python error(i assume its because of the info that it doesn't have any python support)

The latest version is RR 7.0b10+6.2.

A dual version. Works with 6.0 and 7.0 licenses.

No, no python support means no python support in RR.
Modo python scripts still work.

we have v6 12 licenses with adv. server and only 4 out of 6 render machines are showing in control panel after installing v7b8q+6.2. i can try the latest b10 and see if it will work.

i couldn't get to the exact error message from render client logs, because i've already swiped the whole RR installation(update from v 6.02.31 to 7b8q was causing me application runtime problems), so now i'm trying to reproduce the whole situation. but i'm sure it was python error. we tried to render from modo in exr format, normal tiffs worked.

EDIT: yup, still the same problem(v6.02.31 and also v7.b8q) with layeredEXR rendering in Modo:

Hi

Please select the modo job in rrControl.
Then execute "Export debug info - selected job(s)" via the menu "Debug".
Upload it via www.RoyalRender.de/upload_r.php

And I need the Modo file for repro, please delete all geometry, I only need camera and render settings.
Zip and upload it as well.

done with error "rrServer has not created required job data, aborting." but server watch msg is Done. so i uploaded you the information together with the scene data.

That issue seems to be a modo bug.


I do not know where the issue with the update came from.
The error message was:
No license file (or not allowed to read file)!

You have applied an update and not a new installer? If you have applied the installer, have you placed the license file into the RR folder?

ok, ill tell artist about that and we will probably wait for next version.

after applying the patch from 6.02.31 to 7b8q i wasn't even capable of starting the RR server, it was causing me application crash with the runtime error(i dont have the exact meaning), so i rather reinstalled RR 7b8q from scratch. reapplied the license file and company logo, checked settings. everything seemed fine. after running RR control i realized something is wrong with the license, because it was showing me only 4 clients, so i asked you here on the forums if it is ok to use v6 license with RRv7beta, and if not, what is the latest RRv6 version to be working with v6 license.

ok, ill try the latest version and hopefully the license will work. if not, is there a way, that you could check our license if it is ok?

There was a bug report for beta11 today about not being able to change post-script assignments in rrControl.
I will replace the beta11 files in 1hour.
Please re-apply the update beta10-beta11 in 1 hour or tomorrow.

I have the same error message when i launch LayeredEXR:

rrErr: Fatal Python error: Py_EndInterpreter: thread still has a frame


We work on Modo 701sp5 and rr7.0b12

But with default render, i 've no problem.

Can you help me?

I have to contact the modo support to find a solution. So far the render script of RR has no indication why it fails.
