Hello,

We've just changed our workstations. They have all the same components and unfortunatly the same problem.
After we made a lot of diagnosis we have spotted the problem.
When we install RRworksation, the machine crashes 1 or 2 times every day during the same hours.
I tried to uninstall RRworkstation and windows registery's keys with ccleaner on 1 test computer and now the workstation works normally.

Can you help me to fix that as soon as possible because we can't use our worksations properly ?

(We don't have this probleme with the old workstations.)

Here is the new workstations architecture :

HP Z620 workstations
Intel Xeon 2630 2.3GHz x2
32 Go RAM
Windows 7 pro 64
Nvidia Quadro K4000

Thanks in advance

Hi

RR does not call any system functions, therefore it is unlikely that a function causes a direct bluescreen.

Was the client running as service?
What was the bluescreen message?

Hello,

Yes, RR is running as a service.

There is what i have in bluescreenview

091913-29640-01.dmp 19/09/2013 23:54:31 KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED 0x0000001e 00000000`00000000 00000000`00000000 00000000`00000000 00000000`00000000 iaStorA.sys iaStorA.sys+80670 x64 ntoskrnl.exe+75b50 C:\Windows\Minidump\091913-29640-01.dmp 24 15 7601 295 400 19/09/2013 23:56:37

In google it's seems to be a memory error or drivers but i tested the RAM and change the drivers yet.
Maybe bluescreen or not related to shutdown but the 2 problems looks to be connected.

Thanks

How long does it take for the machine to crash? Any special time?

Is iaStorA.sys some driver for the the installed harddrives/raid/mainboard?

Hello,

The crashes occures approximatly at 00AM (sometimes at 02PM) and during 3 minutes, the time for the bluscreen message and the restart.

Yes we 've the intel rapid storage installed with the HP certified drivers up to date.

Thanks

Hmm, there is no special function executed at 0:00.
All functions are executed all the time, so a bluescreen should happen all the time.
There is one special function executed once a day at 8:00, deleting cache files, so this function is not responsible.

Do you have any other application/task/service that starts at night? e.g. backup. Perhaps the combination is not working.

Hello,

It's not at 00AM exactly. Last night for example it was at 02AM. But in general it's in the midnight.
I checked yet the windows services logs but nothing is particulary launched before the crash...

Maybe the RRservice installation can force the computers to shutdown?

I will launch only a RRclient for a test to see if the workstation crashes without reason..

Thanks you in advance for any suggestions.

RR could shutdown a machine. But there is no function to get a bluescreen.
And the service does even less than the rrClient.

Hello,

After many tests. The problems was maybe a coincidence.
Because the shutdowns was due to a bad working hours settings.

For the bluescreens i finally re-install the intel drivers (not officials HP drivers) after cleaning the windows register with ccleaner.

And no more problems.

Thanks.
