Hi

A seperate pre render JOB or a pre SCRIPT that is attched to a job?
If it is a script, then they are assigned to the same machines as the whole job.
But you can add addtional machines. You can check in the client config that the client should taka all scripts, no matter if it is assigned on a job or not.

It's a Pre Render script attatched to a job, that leads me to other issue, before using a Pre render script I was trying to send a Job with PreID and my main render job with WaitForPreID, and they even appeared in rrControl with the little letter and everything, but still the job that should be waiting just started immediately.

When using PreID the job that is waiting should appear as waiting for job? because it was just enabled as soon as it was submitted.

Yes, it should directly be submitted in waiting state.
Have you submitted via rrSubmitter(console) or via autoload folder?

I'm using rrSubmitter.exe, I'm sending through my own submitter script from my app which is The Bakery's Relight, one XML with two jobs defined, one with PreID of 0 and the second one with PreID of 1 and WaitForPreID to 0

Please try to use a preID of 1 for the first job and 2 for the second.

It still happens, the first job what it's doing, is running a script that asks alienbrain for the rendering data to put it on a central repository is defined as ExecuteJobType=Once and Type=None. When the jobs are submitted the status for the get data job is Render while the actual rendering job is in Preview.

here is my XML

Please upload your complete XML you use to submit via www.RoyalRender.de/upload.php.
Then I will try to repro the issue.

You are using the/an almost latest version of RR?

Just to let you know that PreIDs are working properly now. So I go back to my previous question, is there a way in a single XML to specify that a particular job should be sent to a particular group of clients?

Are the clients defined as group in RR?
Then you can add Submitteroptions. You can use all options that you can set via the rrSubmitter menu. Including a client group.

But this way all the jobs defined in the xml are assigned to the specified client group right?

What I would like is if I have 3 jobs defined in the xml, one assigned to a client group and the other two to another client group.

That is not possible. You have to create three seperate xml files.
The waitforID should work fine in multiple files.
