Hiya
I'me currently testing your BA v4.0 fluid shaders. There is a couple of things i've noticed that you might want to know about.
1)In the fluid loader script, there is some xsi setup code that is causing some mel errors. Specifically the "AELogic_(string $messagePlug)" command. I've commented out that command which seems to get rid of the error but i'm not sure if that is limiting any functionality in maya.
2) the file browser is looking for .mc files but maya by default caches out it's nchache fluid files without a "." before the frame number. so it's fluidxxx001.mc NOT fluidxxx.001.mc which the loader by default it is looking for. This might be related to the above issue but not sure.
3)When rendering a fluid with the BA volume cloud as the shader the volume slot of the shading group. and the BA_fluid plugged in as density, maya crashes with the error symbol lookup error: /usr/people/delliott/include/so/BA_fluid.so: undefined symbol: _ZN4half4initEv
Oh also, the same error "BA_fluid.so: undefined symbol: _ZN4half4initEv" happens in xsi too. This is all on linux 64 bit with maya 2011, 2012 and xsi 2011.
not sure if you will get a chance to look at this but if you do I would like to continue to get this working.
kind regards

Hi
Thanks for the reports.
I will log them and take a look at them, but I cannot promise it this month. _________________ Holger Schönberger

BA_fluid and BA_fluid_Loader shaders (baVolume_v4alpha0.07_Maya2012_Mray) dont loading under Maya2012 SAP1 Linux64 (using mray shader manager), it says
// parsing /usr/autodesk/maya2012-x64/mentalray/include/BA_fluid.mi
// error (line 9): parse error
// parsing /usr/autodesk/maya2012-x64/mentalray/include/BA_fluid_loader.mi
// error (line 9): parse error
Also :
// loading /usr/autodesk/maya/mentalray/lib/BA_integer_switcher.so
// Error: (Mayatomr.Nodes) : Shader declaration "BA_integer_switcher" has not been loaded - node type ignored. //
All other shaders loaded and seems working OK.
Thanks in advance

Sorry for the late reply.
There was a string "" inside the .mi file.
A new version will be available this week. _________________ Holger Schönberger
