Hey!
We get constantly (every second or third time) an application error, when we try to start the rrViewer with the "check" button in the rrControl. (see the picture)
Do you have any idea why this happens?
Greetings,
Andreas

Hi
Some questions to repro the error:
1. If you open it a second time on the same sequence, does it work?
2. Is the job still rendering?
3. Which image format do you use?
4. Which resolution?
5. How many frames? _________________ Holger Schönberger

Sometimes, most of the time not.

Yes. The job renders like we expect.

SGI or EXR. Most of the time sgi 16bit.

HD 1920x1080

35-50 Frames |

Oh Holger, there is another problem with Royal Render.
We use here the linear workflow of softimage. To see what we want, we watch our renderings through a custom LUT file, which lets us see the Rec709 Colorspace of Flame & Nuke. We render out linear exr files which were interpreted correctly from both programs.
If we want to bake in the display gamma correction into an sgi file, Royal Render applys an different gamma correction to the image. How can we bake in our custom Rec709 LUT color profile to images which were rendered with Royal Render? |

Hi
So far I was not able to reproduce the issue.
About the LUT:
RR does not set/change any gamma for rendering the files.
If you render the files from within softimage UI, does the SGI get the right gamma?
If you do, then there could be a way to solve it.
If you do not get the right gamma rendering from within Softimage, then there is nothing RR can do.
Can it be that you have set your SI preferences to set a gamma?
(and not checked in the pass render settings)
If it is the case, then you can set the SI preferences for the farm:
www.RoyalRender.de/help/index.htm?Renderer/Softimage/Softimage.htm#Other_Preferences
