Hi Holger,

We are having a strange issue. The jobs that we are submitting are not completing. If a machine crashes, or is disabled while a job is rendering, then 1k placeholder files are being left behind. RR then thinks the job is complete, and leaves frames unrendered. If we look at the output folder, we find several 1k files, and several broken files. If we delete these and reset the job, then the job will complete as expected.

This is happening with all render applications (Softimage, AE etc..). This problem only started a few days ago. The only change we did last week was install the linux server as a service, rather than manually starting it, but I am not sure how this would affect anything.

We are planning on upgrading to 6.02.15, is this a known problem that is fixed in the new version?

Thanks.

Hi

Please check the server log file
RR/sub/log/server....

If there is any placeholder error message.

Which user did you use to run it manually and to run it via deamon?
(If I am not wrong, you can check the user in the server log file right after "Application is running")

Good call.

We are getting the following in the server log, which would indicate a permission issue with the service account we created...

yes, the user you entered in rrWorkstationInstaller is not able to delete the files.

If it is a mount issue, then please check the rrHelp section Installation/linux.
