I want to use a 3rd party renderer with Softimage (Redshift) not integrated in the royalrendersystem until now. Is there a way to get it to run "by hand"?
Many thanks

It depends if they use their own render setttings or not.
If the submission plugin gets the right image output, then you are fine and do not need to have any new file.
If it does not work, then the submission script has to be changed.

A new render config is only required if you want to change verbose or resolution at render time.
render_apps\_config\3D01__Softimage__2011.cfg

At last, the render script could need a new section to change the render output and verbose levels.
render_apps\scripts\renderchannels_2011.vbs

Some info on the things required to render with RR:
www.RoyalRender.de/help/index.htm?Customization/Renderer/Add_New_Rendere/Add_New_Renderer.htm

Do you get any issues?

- I setup a scene with one pass with renderer Redshift. Render current pass from the SI-GUI -> working correct.
- xsibatch.bat from the command prompt. -> working correct.
- In the submitter plugin I have the drop down menu with some renderers, but of course without redshift, so I don´t change anything. When rendering via RR it chooses Mental Ray, not Redshift.
So not quite shure where to put my hands on...

Hi

What is displayed in RR should not matter.
Please take a look at the render log file of the job.
There should be a line: "RR - renderer used:"

Also, what is the error message before the crash in the render log?

Hi Holger,

Embarassed Stupid me. I could have thought of checking the log myself:
1) You have to put the renderer XSIAddon in a workgroup
2) And you have to point RR to the right workgroup (In my case I use a different for SI 2014...)
Now all works as expexted.
Sorry for the noise and many thanks
