Hello,
I am a total newbie to RR, do not know if this is the right place to ask, sorry if it is not. I installed the demo version of RR and performed my first render but in the end the stitching process did not start. So I am left with 20 chunks and a stitchinfo file. What is the most easy way to complete this render?

My second question why is there a 20 tiles limit, is it because it is the demo version?

And my last question are rrProcSpeeds a direct indicator of my render time or other issues are also important?

Other than that thank you for making the demo version available, it is a life saver for me being a student with 4 stone age pc's.

Hi

>but in the end the stitching process did not start
The job is finished=grey?
Any error in the render log of the post-process (the purple render log in the list)

20 tiles is a limit set in the internal data format in RR.

Every renderer is different.
Therefore machine speed benchmarks tests use a wide range of test applications.
One aspect completely not covered by PS is your network speed.

I closed everything afterwards but I got the log report. The last logs on the last render machine is like this:

06.19 22:10.00; All render processes done/closed.
06.19 22:10.01; Starting to create 1 thumbnails.
06.19 22:10.02; Job has crashed: {LQ0} Viscorbel_Omer|3dsMax|--|corbel_Omer \ PLAN122_DR
06.19 22:10.04; Sending client status 'Render Crashed {LQ0}'
06.19 22:10.24; Sending client status 'Idle'
06.19 22:12.47; Warning - Server connection took 3.04s

Can I use the system again or is there a special plug in Photoshop that I can use especially for this purpose?

Hi
I ment the render log file, not the Application log file.

Hi again Holger,

Thank you for the help file, now I understand where the logs are kept. But I think since I have deleted the job from the list I cannot see the error logs for that job.

Anyway I tried another render last night, this time the stitching seems to have worked but this time the final file is in .sgi format while I tried to make it tif. I also cannot open this sgi file with Irfanview and ACDSee. It is unreadable while the .tif chunks are ok. Could you please tell me what I did wrong? Here is the log file:

R 6| >"\\Asus\max\Royal_Render\bin\win\rrAssembleTiles.exe" "\\Asus\max\Viscorbel_Omer\renderoutput\deneme0031." ".tif" 0 0 1 0 20 640 480 .sgi .exr

RR does only write .tga, .sgi or .exr.
It seems that your image viewer cannot load .sgi if they are 16bit.

Please render your images in 8bit (why do you need 16bit non-float?) or change the output of the assembler to .exr:
