I really like your program and am testing it to get a nice natural coloring in objects. I'm trying to reduce render time/# of lights. Is there a way to reduce the lights using distance?
Also, in 5 is Collapse Threshold mean 2 points where their value is within a certain range?

Thank You for the Great Program!

Jim

Hi
What do you mean by "reducing lights using distance"?

Yes, the Collapse threshold is the range, in which lights will be collapsed.
e.g. if your threshold is 0.5, lights to be collapsed can be in the range
0.5-1.0 or 1.34-1.84....

By distance I meant collapsing 2 or more lights that are next to each other rather than looking for thresholds.

I'm having a little trouble optimizing points if the 5. Optimize defaults don't do much. I'll play and test some more.

This has been working out very nicely though. The XSI ppg is great!

But a collapse with only a distance would not be good.
Then you could just create less lights, but the intention of the Light dome is to create many lights where needed and less where you don't need them.

BTW: You have some more options to reduce lights in step 7.
