Hi Holger,

as the guys here are fighting for the priorities of their render jobs, I want to have the high job priorities safe for the render wrangler or admin.
Would be a nice option to have 91+ for admins.

Hi

Priorities higher than 80 disable client averaging.
I would set
UltimatePriority= 0
in the file RR\sub\cfg_global\submitter_last_non_admin.txt.

This way no user can assign any ultimate priority and with averaging everyone gets the same amount of clients.
rrAdmins can still submit with ultimate priority, but I am not sure if an rrAdmin can change to ultimate in rrControl after the job was send.
(rrAdmins have to be set in rrConfig/logins)

All right.
But we don't use client averaging here, because we want first-come first-serverd policy here.
With client averaging on and many jobs in the farm it takes ages for them to finish, right? It's not the chioce it you have to wait for the results.

If the artists fight for priority, then first come first serve does not work anyway.
With averaging everyone is equal. Or you can average by project if you have often multiple projects and multiple artists working on each project.
Of course it depends on how many projects/artists you have and how many machines.

With client averaging the time to finish one job increases. But the total time to finish all jobs is the same.

Anyway, the UltimatePriority=0 should do what you want.
