Hi,

I 'm trying out the demo of RR (v6.01.06) with Softimage and just 2 machines (Vista64). It's working really great and flawlessly so far, except for one thing :

As I mentioned, there are only 2 machines in the network. So one of them runs the RR server AND a client at the same time. This machine, when rendering through RR, never uses all 4 CPU cores, but only a max of 3. I 've used RRconfig to disable "reserve CPU for interactive users", "Working hours", "High CPU usage", etc. for both clients. But the server machine still only uses 75% of its power.

Is this by design ? Is RR maybe reserving some power on the server machine anyway, to ensure that RRserver runs smoothly ? But then again, Windows Task Manager shows that the rrServer only uses a max of 2-3% CPU power.

Is there a way around this ?

thanks,
nick

Yes, this is by design. One CPU is reserved for the rrServer.

Thanks for clearing that up, Holger.
