We have successfully implements our multi-proc MkMovie using RR6. We are now adding the polish to it and we were hoping that you would be willing to share how you embedded the frame number into your rrCreateVideo post-script. We also are using ffmpeg in combination with mencoder to create our movies.

Hi

I am sorry, but ffmpeg has no way to implement anything in the picture.
I am not using ffmpeg loaders, I am using my own image loader (as RR can read more image formats with more bit depth).
I am preparing the images and then I use the encoder of ffmpeg libavcodec.

But the lastest version of rrCreateVideo supports all codecs.
So you can perhaps replace MkMovie by rrCreateVideo?
www.RoyalRender.de/help/index.htm?rrApplications/Pre-_Post-_Done-_scripts/Pre-_Post-_Done-_scripts.htm#More_codecs

Notes:
- H.264 is not yet supported, but will be with the next update.
- Ignore the flags about the slate and imprinting images/logos, that will be available with the next update.

regards,

What is your method for preparing the images?

Our mkMovie send different chunks of frames to each machine. render01 is sent frames 1-300 and makes a movie render02 is sent 301-600 and makes a movie, ect. Then the last step we merge the movie clips together. Ending up with a long movie quickly.

Is it possible to send frame ranges to rrCreateVideo?

In a previous version of mkMovie we used python and PIL (python image library) to prepare the images. what are you using to prepare the images?

Hi

I have written the whole text thing myself. It is integrated into the rrCreateVideo.
No external library was used.

No, but I will log a request for it.
