This Thread has been locked. There are already more than 20 beta testers

Hi everyone.

Before we start with the new version, I am still interested in results from the old one:
http://www.binaryalchemy.de/forum/viewtopic.php?p=634

I am searching for some beta testers (perhaps 10-20) for the next version of the volume shader collection:
http://www.binaryalchemy.de/develop/clouds/index.htm

The beta phase has the intention to:
- optimize the UI and workflow
- improve help files
- fix bugs
- implement missing features

Note:
Version 3.0 replaces version 2.0.
If you are currently using the volume shaders, then you have to continue to work with 3.0. The shaders don't have any big bugs, so you can use them in production.

Beta tester requirements:
- free Time
- XSI 5.11/6.01 or Maya 7.0/8.5
- experience with volume shaders would be nice but is not required
(BA volume, Lightwave Hypervoxels or Afterburn or...)

If you are interested, then please answer in this thread.
Include an information which 3d package you want to use to test the shaders.

If they are too many replies, I will pick some by random.
Please include an information if you already have a volume v2.0 license or not. If not, don't forget to set an email for your forum profile.

The next phase of the beta will start soon.
If you have been selected, then you will be added to a beta group in this forum.

Also we have 64/32 bit if you need testing for that.

Hi Holger-

I would love to test it out, as these are the best shaders and tools
for XSI, without a doubt!

Not to mention we already have a license for Version 2
(and I had a great time beta-testing Version 1 !!!)

Please note that my email address has changed...

Thank you!

Holger,
I'd be interested as well. I'll be using it mainly for medical visualization and personal projects. I have a personal copy of 2.0 and love the work you've done with, but I'm hoping to get my office to buy a few copies as well. Perfect timing. XSI 6.01 Win 32bit

.I would like to get involved.
I have maya 5, 7, 8, 8.5 running on windows.
Using RFM and 3Delight from time to time...
I would like finally to combine Shipkov's "afterburn" and sort of out rendering of fluids for maya... I'd like to see if we could combine your shader and pipe directly information from particles in similar maner as with fluid shader.
Could your shader be used to render fluids? Etc.
Don't have a license for volume shader yet, but I'd like to help, because I could spare some time soon...

Thanks

.Hi Holger,
this is Kai Wolter (Dipl.-Inf.), freelance TD and software developer.
Haven't worked with your volume shader so far but I have experience with afterburn, fumefx and maya fluids. At home and on customer's side I work with my XSI 6.01 Essentials (Win XP) as well and would very much like to give it a shot.

Regards,
Kai

Hi Holger,
I have past experience with Pyrocluster and would love to test your volume shaders. I'm currently running XSI foundation 6.01 and have the time. I do not have the volume v2.0 license.

Thanks,
Glen

.We would be very happy to test your shaders in Maya 8.5.
Main workstation for this would be a Core 2 Quad.
We have experience with Maya since it's inception, and have familiarity with mental ray since SI|3D.

We do, however don't have a license for v2, since we don't use XSI in this shop.

Having played around with the mib_ray_marcher etc doesn't do it for us, and your product looks like the kind of solution we have been trying to find for our
volumetrics.

.Hi Holger,

We would like to test your shader collection as beta testers in our production environment. Our company has long term experience with all kinds of visual effects including volume shaders. Currently we are searching for a satisfying new methods to create nice clouds in combination with XSI (5.1/6, WinXP (32bit)) for a commercial production.

.Hi Holger.

I would love to take part in the beta testing for the maya (7.0) version of the shader. I'm on a Xeon 3.4, 2GB ram running WinXP32.

I have not used the XSI version since I don't use XSI, but I have prior experience with volumetrics using Afterburn for Max, Fluids for maya and (fake) volumetric particles in maya. I also have a keen interest in raymarching techniques and read up on whatever material I can find.

In my work I am required to do volumetrics all the time and I believe I could contribute valuable input to your shader.

Here's a link to our marketing site with some movies where I have done a lot of FX (the prerendered ones, although I do FX with ingame graphics too).

http://www.worldinconflict.com/main/videos.html

Thanks in advance

Anders

.Hi There,

Congratulations on your new shaders.

I'm an Australian researcher and lecturer in animation with many years experience in production. I've tried maya raymarching solutions, fluids, voxels and particle-based volumetrics, with experience in Maya from v1. I'd love to register for the beta for maya 8.5, on mac or pc(XP).
Thanks for considering my request.

.Hi

To introduce myself, I'm vfx supervisor in a french society making tv series. I would have test the volume shaders if I had find a demo version. We work with only the basic particles shader of xsi and it is just too bad.
So I think this beta version time could be a good way to see about it. I just hope I had enough free time.

I work on XSI 6.0, 32bits on Win xp. I had a little experience with afterburn.

.Wow, I didn't realize these shaders were available to Maya. I'm currently using v2 on XSI 5.11 but I'd love to beta test (and eventually purchase) these shaders for Maya.

I'm on Maya unlimited 8.5. If I'm not to late and you'd like another tester, please consider me!
