Hi,

We've just finally upgraded to RR v7.0 and we are getting an error:

Please try to disable the KSO mode in the job settings.

There seems to be two issues.
1) Softimage cannot communicate via TCP connection to the client.
2) The log function cannot print the right error, therefore it is even harder to debug.

Hi Holger,

Thanks. I had to downgrade to v.6.2.4 to get the render out, but now I've had the opportunity to get it back to v7 and try switching off KSO and it seems to work.
However, it's obviously an advantage to have KSO working!
So what would I do to try and fix the root of the problem?
And in the meantime, is there a way to have KSO off by default while we try to find a solution?

Cheers,
Jean-Louis

You can disable all options that you can set in rrSubmitter via the submitter default files. rrSubmitter main menu.

Sorry but I'm not finding the KSO option.
I've looked in the submitter_first.txt file 9which seems to be the one with options) but no joy.
There's one option called LeftFree but that didn't seem to have any influence.

Please let me know!

(BTW it seems the KSO option was creating copies of scenes with _lx appended to their filename, which I am assuming for the linux machines - could some permissions issue be the source of the original problem?)

Regards,
Jean-Louis

The config files are still from RR 6.0.
Anyway, add the line
KeepSceneOpen=0~0

Ah Ok - great, that works! Thanks!

Should there be a v7.0 config file? Did it not get installed?

It is the same config file, but the submitter creates it the first time it is started.
Therefore it had no new settings in it.
There will be a new (non-text) editor with RR 7.1 which will not have these issues.

Hi

I have just checked the KSO script.
And the version you use is not the latest one.
Please update and try it again.
