Holger,
Once in a while I will make changes using the RR Config tool. This maybe removing systems from a render group, or removing the systems altogether. I will then click Save changes, and Close the RR Config. The changes work, but the Clients.ini file becomes corrupt, and it also makes several of the RR Clients on systems crash (which I then have to run around to restart).
The only way for me to fix this is to restore the z_day backup, and then manually edit out the changes I made, then replace the clients.ini.
The way the Clients.ini becomes corrupt is basically all the Carriage Return Linefeeds (OD OA)'s are removed, which messes everything up.
Is this a known problem that is fixed in v7?
Thanks. |

It only seems to do the corruption when a system is removed from the Config tool, and then saved. Removing from groups appears to be okay. |

On which OS do you use rrConfig?
RR is using the Qt framework to read/save ini files.
Does it remove all line ends? Or does it replace the windows line ends with Linux line ends? _________________ Holger Schönberger

We are using rrConfig on windows, but the rrServer is on linux.
No, it does not remove them all, it replaces the 0D0A with just OA (Linux style), which causes problems on the windows side. |

Strange that this never appeared before.
I have logged the issue. _________________ Holger Schönberger

We've been using a Linux server for about a year, and in that time we've not added or removed many machines, so the problem may have gone unnoticed for a while. |

Yes, but there are a lot of companies using RR on Windows and other OS. Or it is the new Qt version. Anyway, it is logged now. _________________ Holger Schönberger

I tried to repro the issue, but had no luck. It works in both directions. _________________ Holger Schönberger
